Also Dimitri Payet’s love and admiration for Zinedine Zidane is well known. There are many reasons one would have for admiring the French legend, and his recent managerial success in Spain is just one of them.
There is a sense on kinship between them given Payet’s exploits for France. You can also say that Zidane will understand footballer’s actions aren’t always the best. Here is a man who threw away a shot at glory by headbutting an opponent in a World Cup final. There would certainly be a chance of the two understanding each other.
The only issue would be that Madrid would probably offload before they bought. Add to that the fact that Payet is ageing and it is seeming less and less likely. However this makes more sense than them signing Faubert, so who knows?
