Payet Displays Troubling Attitude
Generally speaking I like Dimitri Payet, or at least I used to. Especially what he’s done for West Ham.
But he hasn’t been anywhere near the standard he’s supposed to be this season though and his attitude despite that fact has been shameful. Everyone around West Ham knows that this season has been beyond frustrating. When things are going well they are usually just seconds away from disaster. When things are going poorly they are normally just getting worse. West Ham have been a rollercoaster of emotions this season. That said it does not excuse the poor behavior of a star player.
When a team is struggling people need to band together. Show a little solidity and, excuse me here, man up. It is only through team work and endurance that teams improve, not reckless social media behavior and bad attitude is training.

I have been told on many occasions I am too old school about this sort of thing but I just plain disagree. This new generation of players who would rather transfer to another club then help the one that helped them establish themselves is beyond me. West Ham fans are some of the most loyal, passionate and best fans in the world. They deserve players who care as much about the team as they do. That’s what matters in football, passion.
Looking Ahead
Payet has not been good this year. Then what does he do besides get his nose down, work harder, give more to the team? He decides to cause an uproar on social media (which is just ignorant these days no excuses) and not apply himself in training. He was benched for the game against Manchester City because Bilic hasn’t been happy with him. This is not the way a star player behaves and he should know that.
If this is the real attitude of Payet then West Ham are in trouble. Leaders do not behave in this manner. West Ham need leaders and they need men as they round out the rest of this season. What they don’t need are primadonna boys throwing their toys out of the pram because their manager made a decision based off their recent performances.
Next: Recovering from a 5-0 loss
If Payet doesn’t like the way West Ham are playing then he should change that. He has the potential to be a top 15 player in Europe. That’s more than enough talent to change the circumstances of a Premier League team. Get out their and do the work Dimitri we all know you can and please stop using twitter for a little bit.
