Check all goals for offside

Another one that is logistically simple but it would require a rule change.

When a goal has been scored the 4th official, or an additional official (we’ll come to that later), can check the replay and see if there is any clear offside. If it is CLEARLY an offside, not talking about their shoelaces here, the goal is ruled out.

Whilst I understand it can be annoying if the team thinks they have scored and then they get called back, if we have the information in the Premier League to right a wrong then it should be changed.

This would not impact the flow of the game and it would also help the officials. When the ball is in the box the linesmen only have a few seconds to react. If they are not sure they can leave the flag down as the player strikes, and allow replays to confirm either way.

Obviously the linesmen are professionals, so won’t want to be proved wrong. Hence they will still do their job. However it will remove that little bit of human error created by the quick movement. It’s not perfect, but it will remove the very bad decisions.
