It’s FA cup time! West Ham are taking on Manchester City, so what about our opponents?

On Friday night West Ham will host Manchester City in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. It’s a tough draw for both teams considering who they could have drawn. City go in heavy favourites, but who will prevail?

Seeing as we here at Green Street Hammers spend all our time focusing on West Ham, we asked Man City Square’s Larry Henry some questions.

City were winning for fun at the start of the season, but its less rosy now. Has reality hit for Guardiola?

Reality has seemed to hit Pep hard as results aren’t coming as easy. I still believe Pep needs time to really let his tactics come into play. The English schedule isn’t friendly with many games in a short period of time but hopefully we are able to turn it around and get on a streak again.

With the league and UCL the main priorities, will City rotate for Friday?

I really don’t think they will rotate much besides maybe the GK. Luckily after Friday they have a week off until their next EPL fixture and the UCL won’t kick off till February. I do believe some youngsters could see some time as that is something Pep did in the League Cup matches

With Aguero coming back, how much does he improve the side?

He adds a consistent scoring threat to the lineup. Iheanacho is a young raw talent but has proven that he can score. I think if Manchester City wants to make a huge run at the title and UCL success then Aguero will need to score more than he has been doing, and someone else will have to step up as well.

After some big money moves in the summer, are you excepting anything from City in January?

Not sure if we will go after some more talent. Gabriel Jesus who is one of our young talents from Brazil has joined the team this week so he should be in the mix at forward or wing. He is coming off being named Brazil’s Young Player of the Year in 2016 and a Gold Medal at the Summer Olympics.

Next: Positives to take from West Ham loss

A bit of fun for the last question, would you rather finish second behind United or 5th with United behind you?

Wow that is really tough. I don’t think I could enjoy knowing we lost right behind United so probably fifth. I mean it has happened before but it would be the same thing if Spurs finished about Arsenal or Chelsea.
