For any manager, this is a tough game. For a West Ham manager this is a hellish game. A game against title contenders that your fans want to win more than any other match? That’s a lot of pressure.
Spurs games always have that little bit extra about them. Especially in recent years as Spurs have moved to start challenging for the title, Hammers fans have relished the chances to get one over their London rivals at these encounters.
Last season the away match didn’t exactly go to plan, with Spurs running away with it. This time I’m sure Bilic will view the match as a huge opportunity to kickstart momentum after the international break. Some of the top teams can be sluggish after these breaks. Hopefully Spurs will be and we can take advantage.
Unfortunately it looks like they will be back to full strength by our match. Recently they have looked blunted by the lack of Kane and Alderweireld is a big miss. But a good performance here could help us push on to the next match…
