West Ham have today announced an extension to their current sponsorship agreement with Betway. The new 3 year deal will see the sponsorship continue through to the end of the 2010/20 season. Betway are said to have been very keen to renew early to end any chance of losing their role.
West Ham
The club are obviously delighted with the new deal as it keeps money coming in dueing a crucial time in the club’s history, they do not want to be running short when they’re trying to tell fans they’re on of the big teams.
Vice Chairman Karren Brady has hailed the reported £10m per year deal as a sign of the club’s trajectory:
"“We are delighted to extend our relationship with Betway. In doing so we are signing our biggest-ever commercial deal in the process.“Our brand has grown faster than any other major Premier League club in the past two years. Betway are equally ambitious and forward-thinking, wanting to be associated with that success.“Betway have been with us during two of the most momentous years in our history, as we said farewell to the Boleyn Ground and moved into our stunning new home, but they know that the best is still to come. The revenue that this deal generates will be reinvested in our playing squad”"
Good thing no-one mentioned the tweet about Antonio then…
Antonio has been an accident waiting to happen in defence, #WHUFC fans will hope that's the end of the experiment. pic.twitter.com/IeGp4zz1qM

The Sponsor
Betway have a stand named after them in the newest Premier League ground and their names bright across the shirts of one of the top clubs in the country, so it makes sense that they would want to carry on the relationship.
"“We are thrilled to renew our agreement with West Ham United and proud to maintain our close association. They are one of the most historic teams in English football and this is a hugely significant era for the Club.“Since we first became principal sponsor in February 2015, the partnership has been a real success for both Betway and West Ham.”"
What Does it Mean?
Hopefully it means better players and keeping hold of the ones we do have! Karren Brady said in our statement that it would be invested in the playing squad and I hope she means it. It is unlikely to seek a brand new striker on it’s own, but it will help.

This deal is just part of the process by which we will increase our revenue streams. Doing so will enable us to keep competing on multiple fronts, and keep hold of top talents. Yesterday it was announced that Burke has signed a new contract, and now Samuelson!
I hope these will be followed by Reece Oxford, to stop the Manchester clubs from moving in!
