Enner Valencia

Please see the previous entry regarding things we need to learn. Enner Valencia is not good enough to play for West Ham.

I can’t fault his work ethic, but his quality under pressure is horrendous. He looks rushed and always seems to find the defender with the cutting pass and long range shot.

Next: 5 things to lear from the FC Astra Clash

As a squad player I like having him in the squad, but he can’t be starting. He needs to have the pressure taken off him and become an impact player with his pace.

He doesn’t have enough weapons to hurt Premier League opponents, and West Ham need to be looking elsewhere.

7/10

Substitutes

Jonathan Calleri

So close to a debut goal and he should have scored. He will come good and I have no doubt he will score soon. Looked bright otherwise.

7/10

Ashley Fletcher

Didn’t get much time on the ball, unfair to give the guy a rating given how long he was on the pitch.

Pedro Obiang

On the pitch about 10 seconds before getting a yellow card. Classic John Moncur performance.
