Referees will still make mistakes

We had it last season. And it seems we’ll have it again. Referee decisions have punished us again.

Diego Costa was booked within the first 20 minutes of the game last night, for dissent if I remember correctly. Then in the second half, in trying to steal the ball, he caught West Ham’s Adrian above the ankle with a sliding challenge.

He had every right to go for the challenge. He was entitled to try and get the ball, Adrian had held on too long. However he was so so late. When you are late and catch your opponent high you get a yellow card right?

Apparently not.

We did not deserve anything out of the match last night because we were so poor, but the man who scored the winner should not have been on the pitch. You could also argue Kante should have been sent off as well. But that is football. It would make it better if the referee had to explain their decisions after the game. Because to me, and many West Ham fans everywhere, he simply looked as though he didn’t have the bottle to send him off.
