  • After a month or so of quiet it seems that the West Ham board are close to making a number of signings that will move the club closer to that top 4 place they crave so much. The club are looking to strengthen a number of positions, but primarily they want to improve their finishing up front.

    Andre Ayew

The main rumour going around at the moment is that West Ham have agreed a fee with Swansea City after the Welsh club signed Fernando Llorente to act as striker cover in the event of the Ghanain international wanting to leave.

With the fee expected to be around £20m this is no small signing, but the club are suggesting that they could be close to breaking their club transfer record could be broken twice in this transfer window.

The Swansea winger is set to add to the attacking options at the club and fits Bilic’s requirement that the club sign players that are versatile, with the former Marseilles man able to play on either wing or up top, with a strike partner or alone.

The player was close to joining the club last season but the club felt that they could not match the wages Swansea were offering for a player unproven in the Premier League, but after last season the club feel it is now a worthy investment.

    Martin Olsson

After the failed deal for Davide Santon the club are still looking to bring in left back cover and they feel Olsson is a good fit due to his Premier League experience and that he is willing to to play in a rotation role when Cresswell returns to fitness.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

The club are hopeful that they could persuade the club to part with the player for around £4m, less than Norwich are currently holding out for.

The club are also rumoured to be closing in on Olympiakos left beck Arthur Masuaku as West Ham close in on a number of players in order to fill the gap before the first match against Chelsea.

    Carlos Bacca

It’s good to finally be involved in a transfer saga around a decent player, I feel like we’ve actually moved up in the world.

Reports from the past few days have said that Bacca is coming round more to the idea of joining West Ham in this window, especially after the club progressed to the Europa League play off round on Thursday.

There were reports on Sky this morning that the failed deal which was meant to see Diafra Sakho join West Brom is now holding the deal up as the club required the funds and wages the deal would have freed up for West Ham.

Either way this is now an exciting period for the club, and I’m hopeful that the club will now be able to announce a signing tomorrow at the Juventus game with the opening ceremony.
