Arthur Masuaku

Position: LB/LWB

Games Played: 9 (692 minutes)

Impact So Far: Limited by injury, Masuaku looked to be filling in fairly well for Cresswell in a back four. Nothing too spectacular but he has looked good for the club. Another player who has not benefited too much from this change of formation, as he seemed to be settling well at West Ham in a natural left back position. The Wing Back position can lead him to push forward that bit too much. He was also guilty of leaving no-one defending when he went for a short corner against West Brom.

Potential Future Impact: Good. Now that Cresswell is back and fit Masuaku’s role is likely to be as a backup. The club have got away with not having any left back replacements for so long and he is a strong option. Hopefully the club will be back challenging on multiple fronts soon, so a good squad is necessary.

Transfer Grade: B-. Solid if unspectacular, there’s hopefully more to come.
