Arthur Masuaku

Considering he was only bought to cover for Cresswell whilst he recovered from injury, Masuaku is a classy player.

He was extremely solid in the tackle and looked comfortable on the ball. In the first half he sent a great cross over that was screaming out for Andy Carroll. Alas the big man was not on the pitch, but it’s very promising.

He’s a strong player and I feel there is more to come from him, especially in getting forward. If we can hold the ball better we can really bring him into the game and expand our attacks.

9/10

Sam Byram

He is our best right back. No questions about it.

Since he joined he’s looked to gain maturity and his temperament is getting better, although he is certainly a red card danger when the mood is right, he likes a strong challenge to break up a counter attack.

Getting better game by game, two games a week could tire him out though. I still think we need an experienced right back to come in, and rumour is Janmaat is being lined up.

7/10
