Reece Burke played an assured role yesterday amid calls for him to feature more for the West Ham first team, and he looks increasingly mature in the roles that Slaven Bilic has put him in. Martin Samuelson has also impressed once again, and it remains to be seen whether he will head to a championship club this season or stay here in a rotation role.
Ashley Fletcher proved he was worth the hype with a nice headed goal in the match yesterday only 7 minutes after coming on and Toni Martinez has looked very lively when given the opportunity to play with the first team regulars.
The development squad, not on tour in Austria, also beat Peterborough in a friendly match yesterday that contained many of their first team regulars. Is the academy of football back? It’s certainly on track to be.
