It seems rumours regarding the West Ham strikers injury were greatly exaggerated and a simple precautionary check was blown up into something big because people are far too willing to believe the man is always crocked, myself included.
However the striker confirmed yesterday to fans at the training in Austria that he was fit and ready to pay his party in the pre-season matches where he had looked by far and away or most dangerous striker.
He’s looking fitter that he has before and the fact he is reporting these precautions shows to me that he wants to manage his body ahead of the season. We here at Green St. hammers hope his pre-season continues strongly, although I’d rather see him play less and makes the season opener than get injured passing well in preseason. It was good to see the Irishman back between the sticks yesterday after a fine Euro 2016 and seems to have come on leaps and bounds since I saw him in the Europa League qualifiers last season.

I’m not saying this because I dislike Adrian, far from it, I think the Spanish stopper is our No.1 keeper easily, but having a reliable backup goalkeeper is a great reassurance for the fans and the manager.
Raphael Spiegel has been very poor so far these last few matches and it is no surprise to me great most of the goals we have conceded have come when the Swiss keeper was in charge.
Let’s not forget his silky footwork as well!
