Manchester United v Leicester

A pre-season favourite vs last seasons champions is always a great matchup. Especially when the pre-season favourite is struggling and the champions are hitting their stride again. Can United buck the trend? When will Leicester falter again? Will Pogba actually turn up? I think United will find just enough quality to get through this clast

Liverpool v Hull

Liverpool either score for fun at the moment or struggle to string passes together, and Hull as just bobbing along happily. Hull don’t really have the ammunition to hurt Liverpool seriously if the Reds are anywhere close to top gear. For that reason I’m going for a big Liverpool win, and most other people will as well.

Bournemouth v Everton

Everton have got better with each game, whereas Bournemouth have stuttered from last season really. If Lukaku plays then it is hard to see Everton not scoring enough to win this one, and Everton’s defence is looking better as well. A tough one for the cherries here,  I think it will be a comfortable away win.

Swansea v Man City

If there’s a way of stopping this City team scoring I’d like to know about it. I don’t think there’s a great deal anyone can do and keeping them down to one has to be the main aim for Swansea. Aguero is back and rested, so I would expect something from him this week. Swansea…are probably hoping just to be respectable in this one.

Stoke v West Brom

What is going on at Stoke? They’ve signed some decent players and they’re playing similar football to last season, but it’s just not working. If this was Football Manager you’dve restarted the game a few times now. West Brom took West Ham apart last season, with Chadli the destructor in chief. Can he do it in the Premier League again?

Sunderland v Palace

Sunderland haven’t really recovered their steel that left when Allardyce did, and they don’t look strong going forward. Palace are coming into their stride with multiple players actually hitting something like top form and Benteke now there to score the goals they were so desperately missing. The points will probably be heading back to London.

Boro v Spurs

A sturdy Boro side against a blunted Spurs? This has tricky tie written all over it and it wouldn’t surprise me if this was a win to the home side. As it is I think Spurs have enough not to lose here, but it could be tricky. Who is going to fit into the striker role in place of the injured Kane? Will it be new signing Jansenn? Or Son? Either one will have a tough task.

Arsenal v Chelsea

A big London derby and a real test of where both sides stand. Arsenal are playing better but still lack a proper striker to focus their attack around. Chelsea look to be still searching for their identity under Conte, and the pressure on Hazard and Costa is telling. Can someone else step up to help them win a big derby day? I think all three points are staying in North London.

West Ham v Southampton

The Hammers have been all over the place recently. They can certainly score goals, but need to stop conceding. Southampton look steady is unspectacular, and will be hoping that Austin can start finding his form in the Premier League. With 12 goals seen in the last two games, are West Ham games where the excitement is?

Burnley v Watford

This isn’t going to be game of the week in my opinion. Burnley have looked solid and Watford will know that they don’t want to lose any momentum here. Two big wins on the bounce and a loss here will seem very counter productive. I think Monday night will see both teams fairly satisfied with a point, although both teams will believe they can take all three.
